Makeup Tip #23: How to Apply Foundation

Makeup Tip #23: How to Apply Foundation

Applying Foundation
Applying Foundation How-To. Use vegan and cruelty free makeup and brushes.

Step 1: Prep your face with primer. After you have applied your moisturizer and SPF, put on the primer. Primer smooths skin and sets a base for the foundation. Wait about 30 seconds for the primer to set.

Step 2: Next, put concealer where you need to. This way, you can use the foundation to blend away skin color differences that the concealer causes.

Step 3: Apply foundation with a brush. Work in the foundation with a flat top kabuki brush in small, circular motions. Use a smaller rounded tip brush for more precision around your nose and eyes.

Step 4: Make sure to apply foundation to your jawline, neck, and decollete. Putting foundation in these spots prevents you from having a two-tone skin issue.

To hide scars, dip an angled eyeliner brush in foundation or concealer, which will get into the recessed areas of the scar. With the eyeliner brush, coat the inside of the scar to hide the shadows that make the scars appear more recessed. To finish, pat on a second layer of foundation with a kabuki brush
