Makeup Tip #23: How to Apply Foundation

Makeup Tip #23: How to Apply Foundation

Applying Foundation
Applying Foundation How-To. Use vegan and cruelty free makeup and brushes.

Step 1: Prep your face with primer. After you have applied your moisturizer and SPF, put on the primer. Primer smooths skin and sets a base for the foundation. Wait about 30 seconds for the primer to set.

Step 2: Next, put concealer where you need to. This way, you can use the foundation to blend away skin color differences that the concealer causes.

Step 3: Apply foundation with a brush. Work in the foundation with a flat top kabuki brush in small, circular motions. Use a smaller rounded tip brush for more precision around your nose and eyes.

Step 4: Make sure to apply foundation to your jawline, neck, and decollete. Putting foundation in these spots prevents you from having a two-tone skin issue.

Makeup Tip #22: Blush for Oily Skin

Makeup Tip #22: Blush for Oily Skin

Applying blush
Makeup Tip: If you have oily skin, use a matte blush instead of a shimmer blush. Matte blushes give the same flush of color to your cheeks, but do not have the shine. The shimmer blushes will make your face appear shinier. Try a vegan and cruelty free matte blush.

Contouring and Highlighting Tricks

Makeup Contouring and Highlighting
Makeup tips: Contouring and Highlighting. Get the look using vegan and cruelty free makeup and brushes. Use a highlighter and bronzer to contour your face, giving you a subtle shimmery sun-kissed glow. The goal is to put the highlighter on the places of your face where the sun would hit and put the bronzer on the natural shadows of your face. Use a vegan synthetic blush brush and a vegan synthetic concealer brush to apply and blend.

To highlight: Apply the highlighter to your brow bones, between your eyebrows, the length of your nose, and upper cheekbones. Put a bit of the highlighter on the top of your cupids bow and the center of your chin. Blend in well with the blush and concealer brushes.

To sculpt you jaw: Apply the highlighter from your chin to your earlobe and then apply the bronzer right below. Blend the two shades with the blush brush.

To shadow: Use the bronzer to shade along the hairline and above the outer corners of your eyebrows. Then, suck in your cheeks and shade above and along the hollows in soft stripes that point towards your ears. Blend the shaded areas outward with the blush and concealer brushes until the lines have disappeared.

For lips: Apply a lip balm to the center of your lips for a natural shine. Bonus, if your lip balm is vegan, cruelty free, and ice cream flavored like a Crazy Rumors Lip Balm.
